Tom Nolan
Founder & Partnership Lead
In 2019 Tom founded Geist & 168th with a focus on management consulting for mid-size companies. He brings a pragmatic approach to every business with a focus on simplicity and personal relationships. His expertise in corporate strategy and finance comes from 6 years of experience during which he hired, collaborated with, and advised executive leadership teams. His work drove operational improvement across various industries including healthcare, software, business services, training, and education. He worked on acquisition integration at Cisco Systems from 2014 through January 2017. Between 2017 and 2019, he worked for a North Carolina-based private equity group focused on portfolio company optimization and capital markets. While there he worked on more than $1 billion in capital transactions, leading the largest single transaction in the firm's history. Tom graduated from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill in 2014 with a B.A. in Economics.
Klayton Garman
Partner & Strategic Finance Lead
Klayton is a passionate financial professional with comprehensive experience in mergers and acquisitions. Prior to joining Geist & 168th in 2019, Klayton provided buy-side and sell-side expertise in capital markets. He worked for a private equity group that operated across several industries, including financial services, healthcare, media, and consumer goods. In addition to working on over $700 million in prospective capital transactions, Klayton has led growth initiatives, economic research, budgetary planning, and financial forecasting. Klayton's tenacious ground-up approach to each new analysis instills confidence in Geist’s clients. He holds a B.A. in Economics, cum laude, from Lebanon Valley College, where he was a member of the varsity lacrosse and ice hockey teams. He also holds an M.S. in Finance from Villanova University.
Javier Rodriguez
Creative Director
Javier lets his curiosity lead his art driven mind. He founded coastal North Carolina-based agency HRZN Creative Collective in 2016 before becoming a part of the Geist & 168th family. His love for story telling has led him to be a part of developing brands + creative content for businesses all across the country and internationally. This includes projects for brands like ABC Food Tours, Redbull, Disney, and more. Javier loves the process of creating with passionate people, driving the human-based narrative of small business through art. When not working on visual & branding projects, Javier is frontman of indie-reggae band Operation Culture. Art and creativity drives everything that he does.
Logan Weber
Partnership Lead
Logan's expertise comes in the form of managing communications among partners, recognizing opportunities for small business growth, and developing captivating narratives for clients. Before joining Geist & 168th, Logan worked as a risk analyst intern for an international firm, where he conducted primary research on growth opportunities in foreign countries and condensed it into final reports to advise executive decision making. He has also completed the 10-week Officer Candidate School for the United States Marine Corps, where he was able to hone communication and expand upon foundational leadership skills. He holds a B.A. in Sociology from Harvard University and is currently pursuing a Master's in International Affairs from the George H.W. Bush School of Government and Public Service.
Ian Tortorella
Strategic Partnerships / E-commerce Development
Ian has 20 years experience in project management with a passionate focus on website development and e-commerce. Prior to joining Geist and 168th Ian managed, owned and operated e-commerce websites on multiple platforms including, Shopify, Yahoo Store, Wix, eBay, Etsy and Pinterest. Ian has BA from Coastal Carolina University.
Allison Lee
Social Media and Communications Intern
Allison is a creatively-driven student who has background experience working in social media marketing for multiple organizations. She is a senior studying Sociology with a minor in Economics at Harvard College. Outside of academics, she is the Chief Marketing Officer for the Women’s Lightweight Rowing team, creating innovative social media content. Before joining Geist & 168th, Allison gained expertise as a photojournalist and student-leader as Multimedia Chair of The Harvard Crimson. Additionally, she developed an original social media campaign for a technology company, further developing her communication and analytic skills.
Dom Tirro
Financial Strategist
Domenico has experience investing and originating in private credit across a number of asset classes, with a particular focus on Small and Medium Sized Enterprises. Prior to joining Geist & 168th, Domenico worked for a multi-strategy hedge fund where he primarily focused on private credit, distressed investments and also reviewed relative value acquisition investments. He holds a B.S. in Finance and Marketing, cum laude, from CUNY – College of Staten Island and an M.S. in Finance from Villanova University.
